It is Your light that attracts us. And it is only Your light that makes us radiant.
Scripture reading
Isaiah 60 Mathew 18:20
This call to worship1 names all the “lights” that pull at us, then turns us toward the One we actually gather around to worship. It’s an honest prayer for real encounter, not just for a good service.
Prayer
Lord, You are the Light, the True Light of the World. We have looked around, and there are a lot of things that seem to give light. And we can often be a little too attracted to them, but it is Your light that attracts us, and it is only Your light that makes us radiant. We have come here to this place to worship because You are here, and we are attracted to You. Sure, we don’t see You. But You are here. You have promised to be here. You said that when a few gather in Your name, You will be there— right in the middle of them. There are all kinds of secondary reasons to be here. Our friends are here. We like the music. We need encouragement. But all of that will pale in comparison if we can just see You. Help us to see and experience You this morning. Amen
