His kingdom is among us. Open our ears to hear it, our eyes to see it, our minds to discern it, our wills to respond to it, our hands to serve it.

Scripture reading
Psalm 33
This call to worship1 reminds us who it is we worship.
Good people, sing joyfully to the Lord; Right-living people sound best when they praise Him. Use guitars to reinforce your Hallelujahs! Play His praise on a grand piano! Compose your own new songs to Him; play with skill, and shout for joy. For the Word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is drenched in His unfailing love. Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere Him. For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He shoots down the world’s power-schemes. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, all His designs are made to last. From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from His dwelling place He watches all who live on earth— He who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do. No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, we trust in His Holy Name.
Prayer
God of peace, our Maker, God of justice, We ask that Your kingdom break further into our world today. Your kingdom come, Your will be done. Although the nations of the world budget for war, Not a one of them is saved by the size of its army. You are our Sustainer, our Deliverer, and our Liberator. You see us. You watch us. Powerful governments and big comprehensive policies might seem right But You are The God of the Poor and Excluded. You are The God of the Oppressed. You are The Defender of Widows and Arphans. You hear the cry of Your people You desire that all flourish. You deliver us from death. You keep us from famine. Your plans stand forever Your designs last. Your kingdom come, Your will be done. Tell us about Your Kingdom of Kindness this morning so that we can seek it. Show us Your justice, so that we can walk in it. Lord God, You have declared that Your kingdom is among us. Open our ears this morning to hear it, our eyes to see it, our minds to discern it, our wills to respond to it. our hands to serve it, In the name of Jesus, Whose God was the God of Abraham and Hagar, and Tamar, and Rahab, and Ruth. Amen
